Field of application

It is ideally suitable during pre-tanning, retanning and main tanning of all kinds of leathers. Also used in wet white processing and vegetable tanning processes along with other tanning agents.

 

Properties

  • ideal for the production of sheep, goat and lamb skins
  • used in the pre-tanning, it results in full, mellow and round handle
  • applied in the pre-tannage, it brings a homogeneous distribution of natural fats
  • increases the shrinkage temperature of pickled pelts
  • improves the dye properties, especially the dye leveling
  • in the vegetable tanning it results in an even distribution of all vegetable tannins and improves the fixation with the leather fibres
  • not suitable for shrunken grain articles

       

      Application

      Used in the pretannage, it will improve the tanning agent penetration. For depickled and degreasing pickled sheepskins between 1 % and 2 % Ebotan OX are recommended. In rechroming between 0.5 % - 1.5 % Ebotan OX will improve the chrome Exhaustion, penetration and washing properties. In the retannage of vegetable tanned leathers Ebotan OX increases the hydrothermal stability.

      Percentage is based on shaved weight.

      Remark

      Ebotan OX is a technical product and variations in colour and viscosity can happen. The properties for application are not touched by this.

      Storage temperature

      Storage at temperatures between 5 °C and 40 °C.

      Shelf life

      Up to 12 months in the original sealed packing.
